American String Teachers Association National Conference 2023

I am thrilled to be presenting my research, Engaging the Adult Learner in Studio Violin Lessons, at this year’s ASTA National Conference in Orlando Florida.

Teaching adults can not only be emotionally rewarding, it also presents a market for the enterprising studio teacher, if the teacher is aware of the unique aspects of teaching adult learners. We will discuss the physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges that adult students can present, as well as strategies for accommodating these challenges and a variety of learning styles. By incorporating these strategies, teachers will benefit from increased student motivation and retention.

The presentation will take place on Thursday, March 16 from 3:45-4:45 PM. The complete abstract and document may be viewed here and additional information about the conference is available here.

Additionally, the ASTACAP Roundtable will be taking place on Saturday, March 18 from 9:30-10:30 AM. Please join us to learn more about this wonderful program!

Educators, I would love to connect at the conference. Feel free to submit a contact form today.
